Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about how SendAPhoto works.

No. The transfer happens directly between your devices on the same Wi-Fi network. Our servers only ever see accounts, plan status, and usage counters — never the files themselves.

Yes, both devices need to be on the same local Wi-Fi network, and it needs to be a normal, unrestricted network — some hotel or office Wi-Fi networks isolate devices from each other (client isolation), and automatic discovery won’t work there.

Nothing is forced on you: PRO is a one-time, fixed-duration purchase (30 or 365 days), not an auto-renewing subscription. At expiry your plan simply reverts to FREE, and we email you before it happens — no charge is ever taken automatically.

No — you can receive by opening sendaphoto.app/connect in any browser, with nothing to install. In this version, the page is receive-only.

Transfers are peer-to-peer, files are never stored in a cloud, and every transfer is verified with a SHA-256 checksum to guarantee the file arrives exactly as sent.

Up to 500 photos total. You can even start without registering: your first 5 transfers are free, and after that all you need is an email address (no password) to keep going up to 500 photos.

The app is available for iPhone/iPad and Android. To receive on a computer, all you need is a browser at sendaphoto.app/connect — nothing to install.

Unlimited photos, no ads, received photos automatically grouped by year, and automatic HEIC-to-JPEG conversion.

No — you can send your first photos with no registration at all. Only once you go past the free threshold will you be asked for an email address to continue.
